SONS HAVE A PURPOSE

Romans 8:14

Romans 8:28

(KJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

(AMP)
We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

(NIV)
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

-Your continued love towards God even in the midst of hard times will bring His favor on your life.
-God is wanting to work things out for your good.

Ephesians 2:10 (Message)
“No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.”

2 Corinthians 5:18
-We have been given a purpose by God to bring people back to Him.
-God has given us everything that we need to be able to do that.
-We have to be a good steward of what He has given us and use it for His purpose and not our own.

THE TARGET OF YOUR AFFECTION

1 Chronicles 29 (Message Translation)

(v.3)
Compare with Romans 8:28

-When your affection (love, attention) is toward God, He will work everything out for your good and supply your needs.

(v.14)
A true example of stewardship.

(v.17)
Compare with 2 Corinthians 9:7

(v.19)
David gave so that his children would have a place to learn and to worship God.

-The seed you sow not only affects you but those after you.

(v.21)
The first act of worship and sacrifice that they have was financial and not ritual.

(v.25)
Honoring God with your substance will bring honor and promotion on your life.

(v.28)
Because his affection (love, attention) was set upon God and the house of God (the church), he died a blessed and wealthy man who had lived his life to the fullest.

-Retirement is everyone’s goal in life. Although retirement is not a bad thing, it should never be our affection. (that is selfish)

-When we retire or die it should be said that we left things for others and not just put away for ourselves.

-Who is your affection set on? You…or God?
